Just because you can beat your local yodal does not mean you could or would even get close to beating him with it.
I'm assuming this is partially aimed at my post, about having a straightforward game with an Old Republic build against this squad; I'd like to point out that:
i) I won map roll, so I was playing on my choice of map, which was Ruined Base, where it was relatively easy to protect Bastila. My perception would have been different on a more open map.
ii) The match was between two equally skilled players; we ended up 1st and 2nd in the tournament we were playing in, so I think it's a fair example to bring up.
iii) I think having Lobot gives me good options to bring in to help in that matchup. In this game I bought in extra override to outtech my opponent, while I think Figrin D'an would also be a good option to help protect Bastila on a more open map, against accurate shooters. If my opponent swapped in an Echani to target Bastila, if I position correctly, I should be able to make them target Figrin, and if Figrin can make one of his first two evades, I think it means Bastila goes through the phase unscathed.
I didn't mean any disrespect to UrbanJedi, and I'm sure he would smoke me in a game, especially if he got to choose map, but I do think that a beefy Old Republic squad is a tough matchup for Echanis. If I turn off accurate shot and the other CEs, you have to spend the whole round shooting at my Seer for 10 damage shots, which I can evade. I guess it comes down to if I can advance safely and protect Bastila for the first 2-3 rounds, while she builds up force points.
