I think you should add another so you can get the magical 42.
It's a bit ridiculous the # of forums you have.

It seems silly to have to register just to be able to view.
I can understand forcing registration to post and search, but just to view? It's weird.

Sorry you can blame me for about 37 of them.

We like to be diverse here at swmgamers.com allowing people to enjoy the most they can with the many different facets of the game.

Some may see it as "overkill" but we have many different loyal followers to different segments of the game (including the RPG, On-line gaming, squad building, customs etc...)

As for having to register to view, well its not like its costing you anything. At the same time, it protects against spambots and introduces people into others in the gaming community.

On a side note - if you're this frustrated why register in the first place?

We're not here to pull teeth but to have a loyal following of Star Wars fans who have the same commonalities....

Having 41 subforums seems just as crazy as taking the time to count them.

This is the #1 reason right here.

Without forced registration, we would constantly be fighting spam-bots.

In addition, we like to try and keep track of things like new members and such like that.

Besides, not that there's anything wrong with lurking, but we would rather people register, get involved, and post!

While you may find it hard to look through the 41 forums here Dean and the SWMG crew have added a cool button in the upper right hand corner called "view new posts". This should help you find the current hot topics.

I thought it might be interesting to see what the forum was (couldn't view it), so I signed up. Please elaborate how I was supposed to get frustrated with the forum before I could even view it...? =)


Actually, counting them was quick and easy, not crazy at all. I'm sure it was much harder to put it all together.

Well, dnemiller started this site. So when someone's very first post is to jump on here and poke at his creation, it kind of rubs the wrong way. I'm sure you meant it as an honest question, but there's been times in the past where others have been genuinely upset about having to register, so it tends to be a somewhat sore subject.


EDIT: Only your first couple of posts are filtered. It's just another spam-bot protection measure. After you've posted 3 or 4 times, you're free to do as you like.

Also - if you ever decide you want to change your name to a different screen name, just PM me or one of the admin padawans (yellow screen names)

They can do it for you

anyways sorry you dont like the anti spam bot feature but when some of us were fighting over 200 bots a day we took measures to end it.

The 41 forums are there for people to go exactly to a topic covering their likes. They can post in 200 squad critique and get an answer about the point level they are running. You may not like it but most members here have liked it. So it is a personal choice I am sure. Just as James pointed out you can use the view new posts or active topics button if you like to see what is currently being discussed.

I post on a FanFiction message boards that requires you to post over 50 time before they remove the moderation. So I think
Deans 3 or 4 post rule isn't unreasonable as a mod is almost always on here.
