I am having to sign in every time I open the site. That is unusual.

I also find myself having to log in just about every time I come on the site. It's the automatic log-on feature doesn't want to work all the time.

Win Xp SP3, Firefox 2.0.0.16

Login problems since upgrade. XP Pro SP2 on both home and work. Home browser is IE 7 and work is IE 6.

If I delete my cookies I can select forums login and everything is O.K. If I then get out and go back to the site to see if my auto login worked I have to login again and then it loops the login so I can't get in. If I sign in on the prompt on the main page it takes me to the login area and loops again. This is as of 8:20am Central Monday 7/21. Hope this helps.

Basically having the same problem as Boba52. I was finally able to log in after clearing my cookies and history like last time. But, now the site is not remembering me after I leave the website. It's even happening when I don't close out my IE program, and just leave to go to Yahoo or any other page during the same session.
3:00 PST
IE6
Verizon DSL
It's happening here at home and it happened at work on Thursday around noon.
Not a huge problem, at least I can get in, just more of an annoyance.
Thanks for your help.

I also have to log back onto the site everytime I close out of IE. If I leave IE open I never have to log back in, but I close out I'm forced to log back on. I have cleared all cookies and history but I keep having to log back in.

Okay guys.

First off.. your going to have to Fight with IE over Cookie settings. and i do mean fight.. IE by nature likes to disregard settings and invalidate cookies on shutdown/ move to another website.

It's a pain yes, BUT the log in feature should keep you logged in when moving between the forums and website.

Outside of fighting with the setting (and putting gamers as a trusted website), Might just be much less painfull to switch to Firefox guys

I too must log in each time I visit on either of the two computers I use.

1. Win XP, IE 6
2. Win ME, Firefox.

It's not really an issue for me but just thought I'd let you guys know.

My PC at home makes me log in every time I visit the site.

At work, I have an imac that uses Safari, and it logs in okay at first, but if I post it logs me out. I can just hit the back button to the page before I posted, and refresh and it logs me back in.

I too have to log in each time using both IE 6 and 7 and Firefox 3. What is really weird is that when I select Forums and then login it still takes me back to the main page so I have to select Forums again. I still have to log in each time with Firefox 3 the only benefit is that the cookie remembers my user name and password so I just have to hit login vs typing it in everytime like with IE. Once I am in I have no issues with posting or anything else. This has been the process since the upgrade.

I'm aware that the auto-log in function is acting a little wierd.

I'm in the process of trying to figure out exactly why it seems to have SUCH a short memory span.

For now guys, just keep loggin in via the website.

I realize that this is an old thread, but I just started using these forums and have this problem as well.

Has there been a fix or was it just given up on?

I use XP SP3 with FF 3.5, though I tried it with IE8 (but not extensively) and neither will remember me logged in.
Haven't tried with my Linux/Vista laptop though.

Uh, for some reason, my post was deleted or otherwise MIA.

I have this problem too.
WinXP SP3 and FF 3.5; also tried with IE8 and neither one will let me stay logged in.

Is there something I'm missing or has a fix for this problem been given up on?

I'm finding that I have to log in again after about 10 minutes. 'Remember' doesn't work at all.

I'm using Safari on Mac OS X

snow leopard,Leopard,Tiger? is Safari all the way up dated? Have you cleaned your data/cookies and tried to start over again? Have you tried to see if Firefox is giving you the same problems? Thoses are just the basic 101 questions I can think of right now.

I have learned over the past 4 years that Firefox is better than Safari overall on a Mac. It can be the other way from what I understand somethings too. I know there were a few things that worked better in Safari but overall all I use now is firefox and it hasnt given my many problems in the past few years. Swmgamers seems to keep me logined in most of the time.

Yes to all of these questions (Snow Leopard latest version, Safari latest version, cleared out cookies and it still doesn't work right).

I haven't used it on Firefox enough to answer if it does the exact same thing, however the 'automatically log me in' will not be honored if you've quit and restarted Firefox. Using v3.6.3 of Firefox.

I've also noticed that the site does not do domain re-writing. So if you go to swmgamers.com, that's a completely different session from http://www.swmgamers.com. I've had that one bite me a couple times in the past. Going to swmgamers.com should really redirect you to http://www.swmgamers.com (or whichever way around the owner prefers)

Yeah, the 'Remember Me' function does not work, and we have tried for months to get it fixed and nobody seems to be able to figure out what's wrong with it. Unfortunately, nobody on the 'staff' for the website is super knowledgeable about that kind of stuff anymore, as our main 'web guy' headed off to different ventures a while back. So, we just have to live with that.

What I find, is that if use the 'tabs' feature in either Firefox or Safari, then I have no problems at all. But as soon as you close the window that you had swmgamers loaded on, it will sign you out. Try that and see if it makes a difference.
