This is the second time that I've come to the site and not had to log in.

It's like cookies are actually working or something?

How can I break it so that I have to log in every time again?

If you've left the browser window you first logged in with open, you never have to log in...

seeing as it takes 15 seconds to log in i dont think its that big of a deal. I use firefox and it remembers my name and password so i just hit log in everytime.

I use Firefox and have the login page bookmarked so I automatically go to that each time ^_^

I also have never understood the problem people have with it.

I always go in through the front page. Only thing that bugs me is having to scroll to the bottom to click the button.
Guess I should switch my bookmark.

comparativly speaking other forums have a "never log me out no matter what" choice,some grumbling is to be expected,but i don't have an issue with logging in everytime either.

That's the thing, really. This is the only forum out of the dozen or more that I've registered at and used that doesn't have an option to always be logged in. It's like if everybody else had cars with heated seats, but your car just had regular seats (that's the only analogy I'm thinking of off the top of my head, I'm sure there is a better one, lol). It's something some people have gotten used to and appreciate, and miss it when it's gone. Sure, it's purely a luxury and it only takes 15 seconds to log in every time you need to, but it is just a little minor annoyance.

I also do a lot of my browsing on my iPhone (I'm actually making this post from my iPhone), and it's a lot more noticeable when I have to keep logging in on here than when I have to do it on my computer. But I am probably in a very small minority of people who spend a lot of time on here via smartphone (or maybe not actually, since smartphones are becoming more and more common. That might make an interesting poll even.)

I've heard the reply that it's disabled for security reasons, but all the other forums seem secure enough. *shrug*

Anyway, yeah it's kind of annoying, and it's certainly something that a lot of forums do better, but obviously I still post plenty and I'm on here a good bit every single day, so it's not a big deal. Just a very minor annoyance.

As sarcasm is hard to see in written form in the internet, I am not sure if you guys are all just kidding around or all misread the original post?

On a cookie related note, I wipe my computer clean of all temporary internet files once per week so have little use for the stay signed in forever and ever option. It is incredible how much crap computers collect from just browsing the web. As an experiment I left it from December until two weeks ago and there was about 10GB of space I freed up.
