Last night we gave the new Imperial Entanglements pieces a spin with a 'Proxy Sealed' event. We had 7 people total.
I ended up running the following for my squad:
Leia BH
Lobot CLO
Whiphid Tracker
Shock Trooper
Veteran Rebel Commando
Rebel Commando Pathfinder
Stormtrooper
Snowtrooper
Duros Scout x2
The pieces I didn't play were a Sandtrooper Commander, Bespin Guard, and 2 Rebel Troopers. While I was excited to have Override, it really sucked because I got Reserves 3 different times throughout the night, and I was never able to bring in more than 2 pieces, because I only had 1 spare Fringe piece. I chose Ruined Base for my map for the night.
First game was against Matt. He was running Luke RC, Bothan Commando, Bacta Tank, Vet RC, 181st Pilot, Ugo Droid Destroyer, Scout Trooper, Snowtrooper Commander, and Snowtrooper. Matt's map was also Ruined Base, so I ended up on the 'outside' of the map. He used the Bacta Tank to make sure he continually got gambit. I used Lobot's Override to get my own safe gambit on the first round. The Pathfinder was really cool for helping pieces get further into the map across the rough terrain. 2nd round, not much happened, a couple shots exchanged, but nothing interesting. 3rd round is where stuff started happening. I managed to take out his Scout Trooper and the Bothan Commando. My Shock Trooper launched a Missles 30 that hit Luke, the Snow Commander, and the Bacta Tank, but they ALL made their saves...grr. Luke based Leia and put 40 on her, and she took some other damage as well, ending up with only 10 or 20 left at the end of the round. I used Lobot to lock the door she was next to and protect her. The next round we traded shots, but not much happened. By the point that time was called, I had finally managed to score about twice as many points in kills as Matt to earn the win. Lobo 1-0
Second game was where it all started to go downhill. I played against Steve who had Palpatine, Logray, Whiphid, Jawa Scavenger, Shock Trooper, Bothan Commando, and 2 Duros Scouts. I lost map and got stuck playing on Death Star. Palpatine camped out in gambit, and with his 25 defense, I could really do much to him early in the game. 2nd round I based Palpatine with Leia hoping to stun him, but I missed the attack and the FP re-roll. Palpatine finished the round by pushing Leia away. Logray corrupted Leia which ended up costing me 20 damage. Leia died without doing anything that game. I picked off some small things, but I knew I wouldn't win without killing Palpatine. I tried to focus on him as best as I could, but Steve was rolling like a mad-man. I was missing shots left and right, and nearly 90% of his rolls were 15 or higher. Palpatine still had 40+ HP left when all my pieces were finally eliminated. Lobo 1-1
Final game was against James, and of course, I lost map roll...again. Death Star...again. Oh, and James got the killer pull of Vader LOTF, Luke RC. So he was playing those two, plus a Scout Trooper and a Vet RC. I honestly should have won this game, but I made a stupid mistake near the end. I played smart early on, getting Recon nearly every round, while still protecting Lobot. Vader killed at least 3 pieces with Grip. Leia single-handedly kept Luke tied up though, as he missed quite a few attacks against her, including a Cunning with a FP re-roll that left her with 30 HP left. The Whiphid pulled off a great Sniper shot with Cunning to kill the Scout Trooper. I made the mistake near the end of the time limit of thinking that the only way I could win was to kill Vader. But I had 40 points of gambit by then, and Vader still had like 100 HP. However, the Vet RC was down to 10 HP, and if I had chased him down instead, I would have won the game. Silly me for not paying attention. There was no way I was going to kill Vader quickly anyway by that point, as I was down to Lobot, the Snowtrooper, the Whipid, and the two Duros, so unless I was winning init, I could barely even touch Vader, and it was going to take probably 5 rounds to finish him off at least. Lobo 1-2
I was OK with the fact that I didn't do so well, because we pulled garbage for prize support anyways.
The kid who won, Joshua, pulled Arica, and I think Kyp, and had a Twi'lek BSV as well. He probably should have lost his first game, as he was up against an Arica/Lobot squad, but the other player made an error in the first round and lost Lobot right away. The 7th squad (played by StriderRe80) had Rieekan and Kyp, and he actually beat James' Luke/Vader combo in the first round. I'm not exactly sure how he managed that though, as I didn't watch the game. I believe James was still trying to figure out some of the new abilities at that point. StriderRe80 also had a pretty close game against Joshua, but it came down to a few key kills right at the end. Steve had to play against Joshua at the end, and Joshua had enough good damage attackers that he was able to kill Palpatine much quicker than I had been able to.
