To me, pushing a character into a pit isn't much different than Disintegration. Actually, it's not quite as bad because it's a little bit easier to avoid than watching your opponent roll a 20 on an attack you couldn't avoid him/her taking.

there is a save in DDM when forced into a pit. That should also be the case here.

I like those two.

Brood is a fun twist, and I don't think she's that bad and all. And yes, I don't play competitively, and I dig Komari Vosa.

Paratus is going to be fun.

Good times, good times.

Maris with Tarfful, Mas and DOOMBOT might be interesting having 4 attacks at +13. Along with other options the Republic has to throw in.

- Two death attacks with Mon Mothma (only 1 with the extra damage).
- 6 attacks with Gen Windu- probably difficult to pull off though
- move 8 and LS Assault with Gen Kenobi
- destroy any fringe with Captain Antilles

...could be interesting.

I really don't care for either of them. Force Push is going to be...ugh. WotC is making minis to good now, but at least some old undercosted minis cough...JWM...cough, cough...are getting some competition.

I love both of them. And I love it even more that WOTC are giving us good previews, rather than just 10 point scrubs.

Great Previews!

Maris, well we'll have to wait for the details on Force Push to know exactly how good she is. Just on stats she'd be more than challenged by a JWM for nearly half the points.

Kazdan on the other hand is just fantastic. I love my droid squads, so I'll be playing this character a lot if I can.

Very interesting pieces, although I'm anticipating a couple of FAQs regarding Maris, specifically, who moves the pieces, what happens if there are no legal squares to move to (i.e. a corner, or all spaces are occupied), you are pushed into a pit, or if a moved character provokes attack of opportunity.

I'm curious about the interaction of Push/Repulse and pits.... because it doesn't say "move" it says "push back"

Personally, I hope it defeats the character - it's more effective than Disintegration, and it forces you to play carefully in regards to character placement.

That, and I'm now looking forward to Luke Unleashed. A Lot.

Both reviews are great. I have noticed a lot of Force Renew in this set. I am not sure I like that. I would rather it be more rare and they have a few more starting Force points instead.

Just my thought, but in a short skirmish game like this I would rather it only be for those who have truely mastered the Force and can renew quickly.

I like the Force Push/Repulse Powers. Any new power is another option.

Kazdan..Wow. I'm gonna bet he sees some play time.
Right now with any faction droid reserves, droid armys will make a comeback.

Now where is that Kidzworld preview?

Kazdan Paratus + Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Spirit. First thing you bring in when you roll reserves is 2-3 Imperial Probe Droids (which are now going to be a lot more expensive on eBay!). Camp out and build your huge droid army while gaining tons of force points, then use K-3PO to speed them into battle.

Great stuff!

I didn't think Recon stacked. If you have 3 Probe Droids in you still only get to roll initiative twice, correct?

Hahaha, love you guys. :P

I actually wasn't at my office all afternoon, so I didn't see the previews until I got to our LGS last night. One of the other guys was so pumped about them that when I asked if they'd been posted, he didn't stop trying to explain the pieces to me, even though I was in the process of loading up the webpage, lol.

Hahahahahahaha

Yeah....Maris is almost a final nail in the coffin for Komari. Or, at the very least a final admission that they definitely screwed her up. Still think they should've just left her as non-melee. Probably would be worth the 47 points then. I am VERY interested to see how the wording of the glossary turns out for Push/Repulse. I definitely don't like the idea of being able to be pushed off the Mustafar ledges. Perhaps one more reason why that map needs to go the way of the do-do. We'll find out in a couple weeks I guess.

Kazdan is just flipping amazing. I knew there would probably be a reason I would want K-3PO (since at first I wasn't really very impressed). Anything that Kazdan brings into a Rebel squad will be subject to K-3PO's Droid Coordinator. That's awesome. Crab Droids with Speed 8? Heck ya. Bodyguard Droids? When you've already got Chewie w/ repair on your squad? Heck ya. I think the Rebels are seriously going to need some CE expanding help now. Oh Mouse Droid where are you?! :(

I think Kazdan will be cool in the Republic faction too, but I expect he'll see a lot more play time with the Rebels. I think it's awesome that they gave him Affinity. Perhaps Shaak Ti will have Affinity for Rebels as well!

The Republic now has access to Disruptive. That's huge! Or bring in K-3PO to give Artoo Doombot Speed 8! Also huge!

They have the same access to Disruptive as before: Nym. Immediate Droid Reserves only brings in non-unique droids.
