I'm designating myself the go to guy for all Transformers 2 News.

Heres what I know:

Soundwave is in it
Filming will finish in 5 weeks.
GM has there dirty paws all over it again.
There is an "evil Ice Cream Truck" at first i thought this was lame, but seeing som bootleg pics, Its kinda creepy cool.
Way more Dialoge for the Transformers.
Three words for ya "CONSTRUCTICONS....FORM DEVASTATOR!!!"

Heres Rumors and Speculation

Ratchet is either Dead, or on assigment

There are Twins that for into Chevy Aveos
"perhaps auotbot minicars?"

Apperently theres some all time evil badass called the "Fallen" that reaks havok on Earth. But that may be Micheal Bay misinformation.

There may be an Aircraft Carrier Transformer( I hope Not)

Uhh....you might want to log in before you post stuff so that people will know WHO the go-to guy is for Transformers stuff. :P

And incidentally, a lot of that is old news, and I don't even hunt for TF info all that often.

I definitely am excited to see the Constructicons though. :D

EDIT: Used my cool mod/admin powers to double-check the posting ID...and what-do-ya-know....matches all the other posts from Jedicartographer! That's cool, didn't even realize I could do that till now. Anyways....JC, if this wasn't you, somebody just let me know. :P

Don't know if this is common knowledge or not but the full trailer will be attached to Star Trek (gasp!) May 9, 2009.

No it won't Boba, that was rumor and was shot down this morning.

Also the two twins, are reportedly old time fan fav brothers Sideswipe and Sunstreaker.

Wow, really bummer. The source I have is from AICN and they said they were in London watching the 2009 slate from the studio. The article is from 9/12 with no updates saying it is wrong. And Joblo.com seems to be confirming it. Where does it say no?

well, here's a run down (pulled off TFans who tend to get the most RECENT stuff including stuff not widely circulated)

Was going to be slated for there, but then Shay broke his arm (think it was his arm), few other things happened and I recall reading yesterday morn (tuesday the 16th) that Bay was quoted monday night that the trailer was being held back as shots with shay were stalled and they were the last ones needed. IF they can get them in, in enough time to peice the initial trailer together in time for it to be in the ST film's film run off, then it will be.

Bay was very.. IFy in his quote on if it'll be there, he was more optimistic of it showing up in dec due to said issues holding up schedualing (filming was supposed to be done already after all).

If my sources pull the story or discredit it, I'll let you know.. oh & watch AiC news, they's been known to pass rumors as confirmed news (out of excitement not maliciousness), I still recall when they said BB was going to be a VW car in film 1

Theres also a pretty rampant RUMOR there could be a teaser trailer in the upcoming movie Eagle-Eye.

But teaser trailers are just enough to piss me off, but not enough to get me excited.

IESB Exclusive: Kurtzman and Orci on Transformers 2!

Written by Stephanie Sanchez
Tuesday, 16 September 2008
Part Two of IESB's exclusive interview with writing/producing team Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci!

In the second part of our exclusive interview with Kurtzman and Orci we touch up on Michael Bay's upcoming sequel to the massive hit Transformers. What can fans expect to see in the next one? What has additional writer Ehren Kruger brought to the mix? And why are they like the Traveling Wilburys?

At one point, Kurtzman, Orci and new Transformers recruit Ehren Kruger were locked in a hotel by Bay to pound out the sequel's shooting script, read about the process below!

IESB: On Transformers it's a bit different on the writing process because you've got Ehren [Kruger] working as well. How did that work out for you guys?

Bob: We couldn't have done it without Ehren. It would have literally been impossible because we were producing Eagle Eye...

Alex: And with the strike, it really ran out the clock so when the strike ended, we had four months to get a shooting draft together. And so the three of us locked ourselves into a hotel, or I should say, Michael Bay locked us in a hotel...

Bob: Posted a guard outside the door, they slid food under, we got to talk to our wives every couple of days...(laughter)

Alex: We would work in one room, Ehren in another room and then we'd get together twice a day and trade pages and go over each other's stuff. It was actually great, it was a lot of fun and having him come in with a fresh perspective and not having had any of the baggage we had from the first movie was key to making the second one it's own movie, distinct from the first one.

Bob: And Ehren's the greatest too because he's equal parts fan boy and grown-up and I think he is able to get the best of both perspectives and so it was just a very fun team and it felt, we worked together on a movie he had written for us as producers, but this was the first time to really sit down and write together and I think it was the easiest transition I can imagine.

Alex: It was like the Traveling Wilburys (laughter).

IESB: So who's Roy Orbison?

Bob: The Bee-Gees may be better (laughter)

Alex: The Bee-Gees...just keep digging the hole deeper.

IESB: Real quickly on Transformers, it looks like it's definite that the Constructicons and Devastator are in, Soundwave is in, can you give us any hints, any clues of what else we are going to see?

Bob: You are going to find out a lot about the mythology. It's officially going to tell you what the Transformers history is and I think a lot of it is going to be taken, somewhat, from gospel. I think we all settled on the fact that the source material and the myth that established in much of the Transformers back story was perfect for this movie. And that should be satisfying to genuine fans.

IESB: One of the things that we got teased about, and that I loved, was looking at Cybertron. Are we going to actually see it this time? Are we getting the same - explain it in the beginning of the movie and then back to Earth?

Alex: I think in the spirit of what we gave you in the first movie, there will be similar things in this movie.

Bob: Meaning, "no comment." (laughter)

New “Transformers 2” Details Revealed
24-Sep-2008
Written by: E. Van Dril

If you don’t want to know anything about the movie, don’t read on.

The new model of car for Sideswipe will be a Chevy Corvette Centennial concept car, which was photographed at the Hasbro licensing Summit in Malaysia last week.

What this means is that Sideswipe, who is referred to as a "brave but often rash warrior," by slashfilm.com, and an original member of the Autobots, will be in the Transformers sequel.

One would have to think that the state of the auto industry has something to do with the switch from foreign sports car to an American made Chevrolet.

In the original version of the show, Sideswipe took the form of Lamborghini sports cars. Later on, he was a 1997 Lamborghini Diablo, 1999 Dodge Viper and a Cobra Stinger.

Ravage will also be in the film, in "very raw beast mode," taking the form of a robotic jaguar.

Megatron has been confirmed to have an alt mode of a take, and the Devastator rumors are currently saying that he could be a combination of things. But that has yet to be confirmed
From http://www.joblo.com/no-megatron-in-tf2

JoBlo.com reader "mayhem23" got himself a copy of Empire's new 2009 preview issue and saw some pretty interesting comments from director Michael Bay in the section about TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN. [There may be some SPOILERS ahead so I'll warn you now...] Most significant perhaps is that Bay "emphatically" insists there will be no Megatron in TRANSFORMERS 2. Says Bay, "He's not in this movie. That's not misinformation. The tank design you may have seen is just Hasbro coming up with a new toy." Interesting. Of course Bay could be yanking all our chains but that's a long way to go for throwing us off course.

Bay also gives some context to the scene shown here. That is John Turturro being chased up the side of a pyramid by a giant Transformer. Devastator. "Imagine six or seven or eight massive earth-moving vehicles, with tires as big as that tree," says Bay. "It's going to be gigantic."

So what do you think? Do you believe Bay? Do you really think there will be no Megatron in TRANSFORMERS 2 and that The Fallen will be the sole villain?
I also heard that they are ready to go with a trailer during the super bowl. YEAH!!!!

Devastator is awesome, but I'm looking for Predacons or Dinobots. Doesn't go with the whole vehicle aspect of Michael Bay's Transformers though :(

The poster is sweet. It looks like Megatron though, and I thought the going rumors were that Megatron would not be in this film? Sideswipe looks sweet. Is that a new Corvette concept or something? First time I've seen that.

Ok so I'm a little disspaointed that these 2 aren't classic G1 Autobots. With that said I really think there pretty cool looking.

Very cool. Any images of what their car forms are?

EDIT: Ahh, nevermind, I found some info on the wikipedia page for the movie. They are a Chevy Beat and a Chevy Trax. Couple more concept cars.
