Why not put actuators in the legs and make it remote control too?
It sounds like it is going to be very cool. You will have to post video of it once you are done.

Well here is a picture of the sound board I am thinking of using 
And this Remote control option as well. 
The only problem with this is I run into a venting problem and no room for a 10volt battery. I could run everything on a transformer and hide most of the cable by routeing it in one of the rear legs and under the base. I hate cords!!! And no I did not get a new camera for these pics. LOL |

Well I priced the electronics at a couple different places and it would cost between 200 and 300 dollars for everything! Ouch! I am still buying the stuff but it is going in my R2 unit I am building instead. $300 in a $35 AT-AT is just a little to much overkill. So I might just put the CD player in instead. The on/off switch will go between these 2 cylinders

Yeah, I don't think I would put that much into the AT-AT either. It is still going to be very cool without the sound. |

Well here is a craptastic video of the current progress. I still have to mount the on/off switch then finish glueing in the rest of the electronics. I took some footage of inside the eye but this is not the final product. When the defuser is in it will be brighter and more even.
