Post subject:  Upset of the Ages at Tosche Station

The scene is set. Mustafar, the final bastion of the Separatist war effort. Through dark sith arts, cloning and alchemy, Darth Sidious has reanimated the lifeless bodies of his greatest apprentices; the vicious Darth Maul and the cunning Darth Tryanus. Along with only a few battle droids the forces of evil are set to make their last stand.

Through his divinations with the Force, Yoda has pinpointed the facility where the dark ones are located. Unfortunately the war effort has taken a deathly toll on the jedi order. With the window on the opportunity to end the Clone War, Grand Master Yoda brings with him the entire remaining Younglings from the temple. Aiding with the coordination of the untrained little ones, Commander Gree and Master Qui-Gon, return from the Force. Overseeing the operation for the Senate, Mas Amedda is with them as well. As ever, the perky R2 comes along.

yup, I was playing with my Girlfriend, who was, as ever, the good guys. I don't understand, but she was very excited about using the Younglings (or 'Babies' as she called the whole match).

I didn't go for a point total, just kinda thru something together for her and tried to match it up the same for me.

Her Squad
Grand Master Yoda
Qui-Gon Jinn, Jedi Trainer
Commander Gree
Youngling x12
R2-AD
Mas Amedda
(181)

My Squad
Darth Sideous, Dark Lord of the Sith
Darth Maul, Champion of the Sith
Darth Tryanus, Legacy of the Dark Side
Battle Droid x6
(187)

We played on the Armourd Cartographer Mustafar Map from MP2.

Action started slowly, but we soon met in the hallway. Did you know that its very hard to hit Younglings in cover with +0 attacking Battle Droids? :P

Image

Her Gree took an early shot on Sidious, placing 30 on him. She moved up very cautiously, keeping the Younglings in cover, as well as send a squad of them around the back!

Image

At then end of a round, Maul was based to 4 younglings.. hehehehe Next round.. 4 less younglings! Qui Gon hit Maul, and Tryanus doubled back on him, hitting both. However, before Qui came to base.. she used Yoda's LST3 to hit all three of ma boogies! My battle droids headed around back to try to cut off the sneaking Younglings.

Image

She is sad about loosing the Younglings. She called me a baby-killer. I laughed, 'muhahaha'.

Battle continues, Sidious based Yoda, and started working away at him. She used Yoda's LST3 again.. this time targeting all the Siths and a Battle Droid... She rolled 2 1s and Maul deflected the hit on him. Heh. Maul continued to take damage until...

Image

Yes, that youngling killed Maul. Dang. All he did was kill about 6 of them before dying! in revenge, Tryanus used Lightning to kill Qui-Gon. She didn't expect that. ZAaaap!

The younglings eventually polished off my battle droids and come to join the fight.

Image

Tryanus spent most the of the time trying to clear Younglings out of the way. Finally, it came down to an init, Sidious was based to Yoda, and just need 3 8s to finish him off! Yeah.. he only hit once. So Sidious was taken down by Yoda.. and what does Tyranus do.. all by himself now, he kills another youngling. Of course.

Tyranus has a bunch of fps but has taken some serious damage, he's down to only 40 left.
So I lose init, and Yoda bases. After explaining ASM the best I can, Yoda makes his first attack.. 20.. I try to block.. fail, but make the re-roll. Phew, I'm safe now, still got enough force to lightning Yoda after.. she takes the twin.. another 20!!! Blah!

Image

The Separatists have been defeated! Peace is restored in the galaxy, but at a terrible cost, 10 Younglings and Master Qui Gon have joined the Force.

My girlfriend like the Younglings, maybe I can get her to play more often now :)

Ahh this brings back memories. Back to the time when we were young and in school and the girlfriend would stay up all night with me learning to play the Axis and Allies boardgame and Risk. I remember when we bought the first starter of the star wars CCG and sat down and tried to figure out how to play...and couldn't :P Good times, good times. Now all I get from the wife is PICK UP THAT MESS!

Two things are completely disturbing about this thread.

1. Eric I have seen you and how someone as ugly as you manages to get a girlfriend that good looking..... well you must come from money..... that is only thing I can think of.

2. You must be the only person on this earth that actually is using the crappy starter die..... you were at gencon you could have gone to chessex and bought some real die..... but NOOOOOOO!!!!!!

yes but thats part of his plan.

He used the cursed orange starter dice, but she used the blue starship starter dice. The blue starter dice roll more 20's than D20 with a filed down 1.

I didn't have the chance to meet Eric at GenCon and I didn't even see what he was playing, but I DO know he had tier 1 hair.

Ah, I am sorry I never got to meet you either Jim, maybe next time! :)

@ Dean.. I do have Chessex Dice.. they're my RPG dice, so I didn't think to use them. But at least I roll well when I'm killing Jawas. :D

I'm sure there are pictures floating around somewhere. Check out the Gencon 2009 photos (they were on the main page for a while) and I think Eric's in a few of those.

LOL...great...I'm famous for Eric's hair. Of course, when I go to get my own cut tomorrow, I'll look at all the cool hair magazines then meekly say to Sherrie "Just a trim." And I'll walk out of there with 'Old Guy Hair', always wondering what could have been. Eric, you have stones, man.
