So far...all signs point to no. Work it people!!! It is only a level 3 character, should take like 30 minutes tops.

Haha, I didn't realize getting everyone's character stats would be such a hassle. I hope we will be able to role-play by tomorrow. I am more so looking forward to the interaction between the characters and the environment. However, I am impressed with the Vassal program since it is a great way to set up battles when we do have them. I just hope everyone will be more concentrated on the actual RPG aspect of the forum and not try to engage in a battle with the first character they meet within the game. ;)

I would take a second force training at level 3 so you can get move object, enlighten so on then next level get UTF because you wont be able to get another force training till level 6. I might even go Noble for the skills and just use force powers for damage not a gun just a thought. I know the best way would to go noble jedi but I know you cant be a jedi which i think is kind of silly since its just a name in saga o well.
Walter anyway you will let him have Force Sensitivity for free since he would go jedi then noble or solider but he cant?
might want to take pilot for a jet pack so you can keep up with us or just for go the armor?

Just some ideas but he looks great overall.

Looks Good stat wise. Your equipment needs to be looked at again. The armor you chose is from the KotOR era which means that it is rare now so the cost doubles to 10,500. The rifle you chose is Military grade so the Black Market price is 5,200. Your starting credits are 15,000. So you are over without the other items. Also, I added up your equipment and the character is carrying 31.8kg. His light load is 25kg and his heavy load is 50kg. So currently he is carrying a heavy load which changes his stats as listed below. If you are able to move one point to Str his light load would be 30.3kg, and his heavy load would be 60.5kg if you want to keep most of the items (after paying for them). You may want the armor to begin with and get a better gun after the game begins.

[edit] As a side note. Since the Tyia Adept force tradition is a sect of pacifist, and the character does not seam to fit the mold, unless you can explain why a pacifist would pickup arms as he has you will not be able to take more talents from the Tyia Adept tree. (Since your mentor sage would not train you in the tradition as long as you fight.)

Spiff, please realize that I am not being hard on you. This game is about story and character interaction, so the stats have to make sense from that perspective. Game stat wise your characters have all worked, but background wise they have had some bumps. I believe that this may be your first game where that matters. I hope you have fun once you have a final character and have the chance to develop his personality.

The tyia prefer pacifism, however, they know they have to train in combat also (as per the book). Meaning he can use basically any weapon with a stun setting, though he will probably have to take the feat "brink of death" (or whatever it is called, the one that makes it so you can choose not to kill somebody when you drop them to 0) asap. If you would be kind and let him take the force sensitivity for free, he could take it now and not be against anything of the tradition. Also, Tyia are very adept at stunning, as their force talents suggest. So, he is fine as a soldier so long as he either has his weapon on stun setting or takes brink of death.

As a side note, I am thinking about taking up some weapons for a "mini market" for everybody. I will buy them, you pay me for them at a slight mark up. Is that okay Tree? I buy the weapons with my abilities they buy them off me at my pricing when we start?

Last up, can we start can we start?

The force training would be at the cost of either force focus (the first one) or force training itself, meaning he would only have a +9 mod to use or no force powers. I think the +5 to his UTF check now is more useful than extra force powers he probably couldn't even pull off.

I agree it is silly he can't be a jedi but it is the GM's prerogative, I ran campaigns where people could only pick from specific races and classes before too.

He is a soldier so he can get that +7 to attack and become a jedi knight eventually (later a jedi medic), if I know this character correctly.

I'll go with the soldier

Cander Forte CL3

Image

Human Soldier 3
Languages: Basic, Hutesse
Background: Grew up as the eldest child of a family in the mid-rim, he did everything that was expected of a son. Then one day, Imperial security forces invaded his home to arrest his father for suspicion of treason. Cander's father and mother were killed during the raid; and Cander's sister was taken to a youth recovery facility (he hasn't heard or seen of her since). Cander was taken to the Kessel mines as a teenager, and spent a three years there. He only stayed alive due to the other prisoners showing simpathy towards him and protected him from the worst punishments from the guards.

Someone from the prison's staff took pity on Cander and managed a way to smuggle him out. Cander was never told who his benefactor was, but was told that is he wanted out, he would have to agree to help out in whatever way he could in a secret movement that was gaining support to oppose this new Empire. After months of recouperation and even more for training, Cander has been operating as a combat specialist for this "Rebellion".

His time as a prisoner has left a deep hatred for the Empire and anyone who enslaves free citizens. He has also been trying to locate his lost sister whenever he finds free time to do so, but has had no luck. He is just hoping he can get back what family he has left and make those responsible for the deaths of his parents suffer.

He can only get force training at level 1,3,6,9,12,15,18
So I would forgo the bonus at level 3 and just get UTF at level 4. I really he his character would be a lot more balanced overall
He might even want to start out as a scoundrel or noble so he can be the backup skill monkey. Its his character.

When are we starting?
I need to make a few changes. I plan on going pathfinder and armor defense talents in the future. So i have to redo my skills a little bit and add Evasion or Armor defense at level 3 not melee assault.

I want him to be a loner at the lower levels until he trusts others and a survival type character. So Melee Assault wont work at the early levels. I need to redo a few of his talents/feats/Skills to make his happen.

I really dont want to take a jet pack and really want to go with med armor so I am looking at a way to get around the speed 4.
Is there any armor that is reflex 6 with no speed 4 thats med armor?

I don't think there's a medium armor that doesn't reduce speed. The only way to overcome that is to take the soldier talent. Stormtrooper armor gives a +6 armor bonus and is light armor. You may not be able to purchase it because of it's nature, but something tells me you'll have the opprotunity of acquiring one down the road.

Sincerely,
Jester007

You could always forgo the armor completely as you will have the same total by level 6 anyway. Then again, I have always found the way SWSE did armor to be completely stupid. Level or armor unless you are a soldier and take two talents, then it is level and 1/2 armor.

Armor in star wars, great at level 1, a hindrance if you are anywhere around level 5 or higher.

I plan to review the last few characters and ask for any missing Info. What ever I don't have before 7am EST tomorrow will have to be dealt with at next level up.

Also, I plan to allow each player the opportunity to exchange one feat or talent for another that they qualify for before leveling to 4.

For the record, Any player can be a Jedi or from any other Force tradition they want. Because of where we are in the timeline players are not allowed to be part of more than one Force tradition. So if a character is a Jedi, they can not take talents from the Aing-tii Monk tree or if the character has talents from the Wardens of the Sky tree, thy can not be part of the Jedi Force tradition (Class). I know that the Jedi are the only Force tradition that was given it's own class and that the Jedi class is the only one that grants Force Sensitivity for free. When Wizards of the Cost redid the rules they removed the Force Adept. I would have liked a base class for all the other tradition out there, but it was not created. Since this is my first time GMing using the SAGA rules I am not going to try to create a new base class.

The house rules that I presented have come from GMs with a lot of experience with this system, including several of the game designers. If it was not for that fact, I would have gone with the rules as written.

Jester I have reviewed you character and only have a small issue. I can not get my math to work for your credits and load. I will post your character in the approved thread and let me know here if I made a mistake.

Ok, toned down the equipment a bit. Still don't know if I should go w/ armor at all (sure is nice for ref boost for now) though I don't know if marine armor is even available (it shows it as Restricted not Millitary). I agree w/ Jedi_Master in that stun damage would be ok or the brink of death feat as a Tyia as they both don't cause the enemy to die. This equipment is also light enough to not cause encumbrance. I also would like to start w/ force sensitivity as it would free up a feat that I could either use toward Force training (most likely choice) or Brink of Death (a close second), however its up to the GM (pretty please :) ).

Tree, This is the second paragraph under background section in Jedi from the core rulebook (page 39). It is also why I said it was silly why he couldn't start as a Jedi class character and not be a member of the Jedi order.

"Still, not all who study the Jedi arts are actually members of the Jedi order. During the old sith wars (thousands of years before the battle of Yavin), many Sith acolytes and initiates are often members of this class before becoming a Sith apprentice under a particular Sith lord (see page 224). This class is also common among other force using traditions with strong ties to the Jedi arts, such as the Jensaarai (see page 106)."

To me that says that "Jedi" as a class means "Force user". I mean, it basically spells out that not every "Jedi" class character is a member of the Jedi order. I think you are taking the name to literally and that it is meant as "Force user" but calling it "Jedi" was easier as there were all of 4 force using traditions, two of which were always members of the Jedi Order at some point in time. Still, that is my opinion and I am not the GM now am I? Hence why I said what I said in the way I said it. My two cents have been fully thrown.

[edit] For specific examples, page 114, 121, and 126 of the Jedi Academy Training Manual
