The Clone Strike Starter Set provides all the materials you need to become familiar with the brand new Star Wars Miniatures line. The miniatures in this product are randomized and playable right out of the box. The Starter Set also contains two unique figures that cannot be obtained in the Booster Packs.

Starter Set components:
Eight randomized and two exclusive miniatures, all with stat cards
rare, common, and uncommon miniatures
complete basic rulebook
20-sided die
set checklist
terrain mapsheet and terrain cards

Seven randomized miniatures with statistics cards
Very rare, rare, common, and uncommon miniatures

Set Information
There are 60 unique miniatures in the Clone Strike set.
Miniatures are pre-painted plastic.
All miniatures packages are randomized and made up of figures of varying rarity.

Clone Strike Set Review {out of 5 Lightsabers}
Image Image Image Image Image

The Clone Strike set is the second set released from WotC for Star Wars Miniatures and was one of the most popular. Pulled out of re-print due to popular demand, Clone Strike tended to have some really popular chase pieces as well as an abundant of Rare Non-Unique Miniatures such as the Destroyer Droid, Dwarf Spider and Aerial Clone Trooper Captain that were quite popular with collectors. In this set again we see the same type of format as Rebel Storm with three separate factions – the Republic, the Seperatists and again, the neutral Fringe. The Republic has a good balance of Melee characters which are mostly Jedi coupled with ranged support from the Clone Armies that appear at the end of Attack of the Clones. With excellent firepower but minimal defense, the Clones are well supported by some handy Commander Effects by their Jedi Generals such as that of Ki-Adi-Mundi, Kit Fisto and Aayla Secura. Yoda embodies everything Jedi and we see in this set the parity between the Republic Forces and the upstart Seperatist League isn’t that far apart. Supported by mainly rogue Jedi (such as Asajj Ventress), Bounty Hunters (Durge and Jango) and led by Count Dooku and the mysterious Darth Sidious, the Seperatists are indeed powerful as suggested in the Star Wars movies. We also capture several events in the first two movies, including the Gungans and Naboo and the Geonosians. Perhaps if Poggle the Lesser had not so easily handed the plans to the Death Start to Count Dooku, the Geonosians may have been ruling the galaxy with an iron fist. This set although somewhat dated now, will become even more obsolete with the new Clone Wars set soon to be coming out. Still though, pieces such as General Kenobi, Yoda’s Force Cancel, Darth Sidious and Aurra Sing will always shine for sets to come...

Breakdown by Faction / Top Pieces by Faction

Republic

As mentioned above the Republic Faction is quite balanced. The Clones, although weak defensively pack quite a punch being the first grunt troopers to dish out 20 damage regularly. They also can benefit from the Sargeant (criticals on 19's and 20's) and the Commander (+3 attack) and finally the Aerial Clone Trooper Captain (make 1 attack at the end of the ACTC's turn). They do lack defense and their attack is relatively low though. They will pay the penultimate price come Revenge of the Sith, but up to this point the Clones can attack with devestating effect. Supported by the Melee-Heavy Jedi the Republic also sees a significant bonus from Padme Amidala, Captain Typho and the Naboo Soldiers. The Republic can't be understated and the likes of Mace Windu, Yoda, Qui-Gon Jinn and even Quinlan Vos are quite powerful for their cost (up to this point). Several progressions and later sets pretty much trump the costing for this set but to this point the Republic is a fairly respectable fashion. General Kenobi is a great addition to any squad, and even Anakin can pack a punch.

Key Pieces: Yoda (Very Rare), General Kenobi (Rare; Starter only), Mace Windu (Very Rare)

Seperatists

The Seperatists are led by rogue citizens from every corner of the galaxy to fight a defiant fight against the Republic. Led by the mysterious Darth Sidious (behind the scenes) and the Jedi traitor Count Dooku, the Seperatists draw on all enemies of the Republic including the Bounty Hunters Durge and Jango Fett, the deadly Asajj Ventress and the Sith Assassin Darth Maul. All the uniques for the Seperatists are quite deadly in their own way. Darth Maul leading the way in his true to movie form. Perhaps one of the best pieces in Star Wars Miniatures was printed in this set - the 9-Point Battle Droid Officer who gives +4 attack to Non-Unique droids boosting everything from the Battle Droid and Super Battle Droid to the E522 Assassin Droid and Guard Droid found in later sets. The Battle Droids will remain the only 4 point shooters up until Alliance & Empire. The Seperatists do benefit from one key thing though, with consisting of mostly Droid shooters, for what it's worth, they are immune to critical hits.

Key Pieces: Darth Maul (Very Rare), Darth Sidious (Very Rare), Battle Droid Officer (Uncommon)

Fringe

Less of a stand-alone Faction this time, the Fringe become more of a support area for both factions (and the Rebels/Imperials from Rebel Storm) to draw from. Fortunately the two Unique pieces make up for the inadequacies provided by the Non-Uniques printed in the set. Aurra Sing still today is one of the best Jedi Snipers in the game attacking at +19 with Careful Shot for 30 Damage. Zam Wesell, by herself can snipe Unique Characters for an unbelievable and Jaw Dropping +20 if she is on her own for 20 damage. She also brings the propensity to deal 60 damage from 12 squares away. The rest of the fringe unfortunately are not really worth mentioning perhaps with the exception of the 4 point Gran Raider who, with Stealth, has become a staple in most Nom "bomb" Super Stealth Squads. The Ithorian Commander does benefit the 10 Base Damage/Melee Attackers but that wasn't until Alliance & Empire came out. Aside from that, with point costs ranging 5 to 14 points, there really isn't much worth drawing from

Key Pieces: Aurra Sing (Very Rare), Zam Wesell (Rare), Gran Raider (Common)
