With Darth Jim unfortunately unable to organize the PA-MD Regionals this year, I've stepped up. Along with my friend Ted, we'll be diligently searching a venue and lining up a date, prize support, etc. in the coming weeks. We hope to have all the info available as soon as possible. PM me with any questions or suggestions you have, and I hope everyone will be able to make it!

Justin,

The VA regional is May 28th. I think you could probably choose any date before that and be safe. Maybe you should shoot for the same date that Jim had, April 30. That way anyone who already had plans to go up there won't have to make any changes. Plus that puts about a month between our two tournaments, so people who have families may be able to get away for both tournaments. Don't forget to be careful of Mothers Day weekend.

Roy

Yep, we're planning for April 30th, but of course that is subject to whatever our venue has planned. I should have a venue by this week, at which point we'll be working on a date.

Lol, I actually meant Montgomery County, Maryland, but we're 95% sure it'll be in Baltimore anyways. Sorry for not specifying. I hope you'll come to the Event!

I will have to look and see where Montgomery County, MD is

I should make it, as long as it is not near my sons birth... He is due at the end of April.

It's the county north of Washington, DC. And that's exciting that your son is going to be born! We're actually looking to have our Regional on April 30th, so it might be a conflict, but I'm hoping you'll be able to come!

Only a day and a half away! Turnout is looking to be absolutely PHENOMENAL with around 28-35 people. Make sure you're not one of the ones who misses out on this amazing Tournament!

I have confirmed that Kris, Ian, Marcous, Rusty, Jordan, and myself will all be there from VA! So if you haven't already done so, add 6 from VA!

They pushed back his start date. So he's able to make it after all! I'm ready to start playing right now. Boy this day is dragging! LOL

I'm posting from a phone so I cant post much. We had 30 competitors from 8 states. Top 4 was Dan Stephens, Greg Sutton, Ian Gordon, and Ted Peck. Dan beat Ian in the Final to win the tourney and take home the badge. Thanks to all who came and especially Matt Francella for generous prize support and Jim for all his help. Will post more when I get to a computer. Thanks!

I won't steal any of Justin's thunder but I wanted to post a few thoughts. First, big thank you's to Justin for his organizational skills and dogged pursuit of every detail in getting ready for this. I know what goes into creating, promoting, and running a regional and for the product we ended up with, Justin worked his butt off. He had great prize support, a huge turnout for this part of the country, and a smooth day with very few bumps.

Secondly, I want to thank Matt Francella. The enthusiasm I heard from Justin was infectious when he told me excitedly of Matt's contribution to the prize support. Guys, I would encourage any of you living on the east coast to give Matt a shout out and thank you when you run into him either on the boards or at events. He cares about the game, particularly about growing it on the east coast, and along with Josh, has given us quality products again and again. My only regret was that I couldn't spend more time with him yesterday. Like so many others who came, he had long drives both ways and I for one want to voice my appreciation for not only what he did yesterday but his daily approach to our game.

I was fortunate enough to spend time with the Virginia guys and the Atlanta guys. This was my GenCon, and even though I did okay (3-2 and finished 11th) this was as much of a social event for me as anything. In that I was not disappointed; the games were fun and our time at the restaurant was a blast, laughing at the most stupid jokes we could think of. I am proud to be a Virginian by birth, and proud to know the Virginia guys... great representatives of our game, one and all.

The Atlanta guys made me an honorary member and presented me an Atlanta Star Wars Gamers shirt. It truly is an honor to be associated with them. I've said for 2 years now that Daniel Stephens epitomizes good sportsmanship, and it is prevalent throughout their entire group. Couple that with top level play and you have one of the premier groups in our game. My congratulations to them all for yesterdays success, and particularly to Daniel, who went 7-0 with 21pts to win it all. To my good friends David Weeks and Matt Spry I say in particular thank you for your parts in making my day a truly enjoyable one.

Two final thoughts: Marcous, long island ice teas are expensive, and Jordan I just have one word: Six.
